What is Schedule 1 (Form 2290)

Schedule 1 is a proof of payment provided to you by the IRS upon payment of your Heavy Vehicle Use Tax. Once your Form 2290 is processed by the IRS, they will create two stamped copies of your Schedule 1. One will be provided to you and the other will be used by the IRS for record-keeping purposes.

If you decide to e-file your Form 2290, you will have to pay either by Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW) or through Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS).

After the IRS receives your payment information it will get verified and if you have followed all the correct steps to file Form 2290, an email will be sent to you with the attached copy of 2290 Schedule 1 form as proof of payment.

This is also known as IRS watermarked Schedule 1 2290 proof of payment. This means that the IRS will stamp its e-file logo and the date of your return on the 2290 tax e-file schedule 1.

If you filed your Form 2290 manually and mailed it to the IRS, you will receive the stamped Schedule 1 copy within 5-6 weeks once the IRS processes your filed Form 2290.
